Cartref Mynydd's YW Completes Chepstow 5k in honour of Cancer Research

Cartref Mynydd is proud of YW for completing the Chepstow 5k and raising over £250 for Cancer Research. The charity is a world-leading independent cancer foundation dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information.

Having a keen interest in running and having previously completed runs alongside his dad, YW decided to compete in a 5k run but made it known that he was to raise money while doing it. Though offered a variety of charities based on his interests, YW chose Cancer Research to fight the awful disease and help a great cause.

With the support of his running team, Elisha Lawrence-Bardsley, Bradley Aston and Iona Fellows, YW finished the race in just over 25 minutes, putting him in 13th place.

But YW doesn't intend to stop there and has begun training for his next challenge and hopes to, one day, take on a half marathon. The team is incredibly proud of his achievement and looks forward to supporting his next ambition.
