HJK from The Old Vicarage start his Animal Care Animal Care & Stable Management ASDAN Qualification!

The Old Vicarage's HKJ rediscovered his love for horses last week as he embarked on his Animal Care & Stable Management ASDAN Qualification!

In recent weeks, our Academy Living team began working with Maggie's Voice Equestrian Centre in Pontypridd to create opportunities for residents to engage in therapeutic horsemanship and riding sessions. The Old Vicarage's HKJ was first to take the reins this week. Supported by his wonderful staff and guided by the expertise of owner, Elinor, he engaged in preparing food and feeding the horses, grooming and helping with laying the hay. His visit ended with a local walk with one of the resident horses. HKJ has always loved horses and will now continue to visit every week to complete his ASDAN qualification in Animal Care and Stable Management! This visit was an excellent first step for HKJ, and we are continually amazed by his progress and positive attitude.

Thank you to the staff at TOV and Maggie's Voice Equestrian Centre for making this happen! As the saying goes, "Teamwork makes the dream work", and in this case, it certainly has.
