PASSION Award Winner - Katie Copner

Our penultimate award is the Opportunities Award, which was awarded to Katie Copner from Cartref Mynydd!

There are opportunities around every corner at Orbis. From being able to climb the career ladder to undertaking paid training with our Learning and Development team, there's something for everyone. The Opportunities Award celebrates colleagues who have utilised these opportunities and go a step further by creating new and exciting opportunities for those they support too.

After being a member of the Orbis team for just a few months, Katie decided to approach her managers at Cartref Mynydd to discuss her concerns in supporting one of the home’s residents. Instead of stepping away from the challenge, Katie sought advice to gain a better understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, the home’s best practices and collaborative working approaches. She worked closely with colleagues and has never looked back. Today Katie starts every shift brimming with confidence, and her determination to overcome her concerns is inspirational.
