Tŷ Dyffryn

Tŷ Dyffryn is nestled deep within the Rhondda Valley, in the small community town of Porth. The home is a two-bedroom residential home for individuals between the ages of 16-25 who may require a transition period between children and adult services.

Located on a quiet residential street, the home is at the heart of the Porth community, with a wide range of local amenities on offer for our individuals. From splashing in the pool at the local leisure centre to enjoying a gentle stroll on the Taff Trail, there’s no shortage of great activities available within the town.

As one of our latest homes, Tŷ Dyffryn has undergone a significant refurbishment and has been tailored to suit the needs of the individuals we support. Equipped with a beautifully spacious living room and kitchen, there is plenty of room for our individuals to relax and unwind. A patioed outdoor space provides some room for the individuals to enjoy the fresh air!

We support young people to be active and valued members of their community, through a model of education and care that is underpinned by Positive Behaviour Support which ensures that positive behaviour and learning are celebrated, repeated and reinforced.

As a transition home, Tŷ Dyffryn offers placement for individuals between the ages of 16-25 who might require a period of transition between children's and adult services.

The town of Porth is said to be the gateway to the Rhondda Valley and its name in Welsh is a literal translation of the word "Gate".

Tŷ Dyffryn is a terraced home located on a quiet residential road where the terraced properties were built following the sinking of the coalmines throughout the 19th century.

Since its role as housing for local pit workers, the two bedroom house was a modern family home in the following years. Orbis acquired Tŷ Dyffryn in 2020, turning it into a cosy, homely property for two young people.
